The manor house of Atla is one of the oldest manors in Estonia, first mentioned in 1422, when Atla manor was selled to Herman van Todewyn. Atla manor has been a property of several famous families such as Maydells, Lodes, Helffreiches and others. The last landlord, before nationalization was Konstantin von Barlöwen, who died in 1914 and left the manor to its 3 sons. In 1919, when the manor became state's property, Atla was in large debts and was given to rent to Mihkel Rüteman. After fire in the 1905. during rebellion the main house was rebuilt fast in the form we know the house nowadays. The main house stood empty with demolished doors and windows in the last years before the 1997 when Raivi Juks bought the property, rebuilt the abandoned main house as a living house. In old stables there are now ceramic's factory and ceramic's shop, ice cellar is also reconditioned, forest park is layd out and the other outbuildings will become reconditioned.
