Pädaste Manor, hidden in the serene natural wilderness, is the key that unlocks the secret legends of the ancient Baltic. Elegant in its simplicity, this 16th century manor has been transformed into a small luxury resort and spa that has every desirable luxury including a delightful view of the sea. There is a small and intimate spa with a wide range of facilities including a Roman steam bath and a wood-burning sauna to enhance the comprehensive menu of treatments. The manor also has a small state-of-the-art private cinema. Lovers of fine dining will enjoy the New Estonian cuisine that may be accompanied by a bottle from the manor's well-stocked cellar. Pädaste’s Seahouse restaurant was selected by American Gourmet Magazine as one of top 100 in the world and the Tatler Travel Guide 2005 named Pädaste manor as one of the 10 best boutique hotels worldwide. Pädaste is the only remaining manor complex on Muhu Island and one of the very few in Estonia with a private shoreline. Numerous impressive fieldstone buildings that are leading examples of the classic Muhu Architectural School surround the courtyard. On one side stands a two-story granary (1879), a blacksmith shop and a woodworking building (1886) while the carriage house and cheese factory (1890) complete the symmetry of this aesthetic courtyard. Even the 18th century log-house intended for the caretaker of the manor, has been transformed into a cosy, private hideaway for discerning guests. Bicycle and walking paths criss-cross this scenic, juniper-covered island dotted with historical fishing villages. A 2500 B.C. burial site, a 13th century church and even an ostrich farm are located nearby! An ancient Estonian legend claims that throughout time, this charming seaside jewel has been touched by magic. Above all, Pädaste Manor has the history and natural essence, which give it an undefinable feeling, some people call a soul... The manor grounds are open to the public every day between 11.00 and 18.00.
